Established in 2001, the Olympic Incubator Program seeks to bring in top quality instructors, those with international credentials, to Wisconsin. The goal is to train and develop high quality instructors, trainers and competitors who can compete, or train those to compete, at the international level.
Dressage was selected as the initial focus, and in the future, the goal is to expand to include as many Olympic equestrian sports as possible.
In 2004, Olympian Steffan Peters was the featured clinician for the 2nd Annual Clinic, held October 30th and 31st at Wyngate Dressage Center in Walworth, Wisconsin. More than 120 people attended each day to watch Peters work with seven dressage riders on improving the riding and the training of their horses.
Betsy Steiner, international rider, trainer, clinician and author was the featured clinican at the 2005 Olympic Incubator Clinic held October 8 and 9, 2005 at Oldenburg Farm in Mequon, Wisconsin. Eight riders were selected to participate and numerous auditors were on hand to take an active part in the excellent educational opportunity.
